Fun facts about respiratory system 👃🏼

Like we do with the heart, I will present here the fun facts about the respiratory system:

(Like I do in the last post, I will post the reference)

1. The right lung is slightly larger than the left. 👃🏼

2. Hairs in the nose help to clean the air we breathe as well as warming it. 👀

3. The highest recorded "sneeze speed" is 165 km per hour. 😮

4. The surface area of the lungs is roughly the same size as a tennis court. 🎾

5. The capillaries in the lungs would extend 1,600 kilometres if placed end to end. 😮

6. We lose half a litre of water a day through breathing. This is the water vapour we see when we breathe onto glass. 😨💦

7. A person at rest usually breathes between 12 and 15 times a minute. 💨💨💨

8. The breathing rate is faster in children and women than in men. 💨👱🏼👩🏽👦🏽
